Boilerplate
Foliark is an offline document scanner for iPhone that turns paper into searchable PDFs and files them automatically. Unlimited text recognition (OCR), full-text search, the auto-filing Smart Vault, encrypted backup, and app lock are free for everyone — with no ads, watermarks, or page limits. A single one-time Pro purchase adds power features like merging, AES-256 PDF protection, and batch export. Everything runs on the device: no account, no cloud, no analytics. Foliark is built in Zürich by Markus Solbach under the BFG Works label.
The story in one paragraph
Scanner apps have drifted into subscriptions, cloud accounts, and ads — while the one thing people actually scan is their most sensitive paper: contracts, IDs, medical letters, invoices. Foliark takes the opposite bet: the important features are free, the only payment is a one-time unlock, and documents never leave the phone. Its Smart Vault reads every scan on-device and files it by topic, sender, and date — a private archive that organizes itself.
